Our circulating collection is available for free to any patron in the MidYork System. See below for loan periods and restrictions.
Late fees: The library no longer charges patrons for overdue items. We do still charge you for the cost of long overdue items which will block your account. Returning the item will remove the charge from your account. See a library staff member if you have any questions.
New Books: New books circulate for two weeks.
New DVDs: New DVDs circulate for three days.
Books/Audiobooks: Books and audiobooks circulate for three weeks.
DVDs: DVDs circulate for one week. There is a limit of 5 DVD’s per card.
Newspapers/Magazines: The Rome Sentinel is available for in-library use. Magazines circulate for one week.
Mid-York System: As part of the Mid-York library system, Ilion Library is able to access books not found on its shelves. Requests may be placed at the main desk or online.
Interlibrary Loan: If a desired item is not available within the Mid-York system, a title may be requested from outside the system. This type of request may be placed at the main desk and may require a $4.00 postage fee.
For Juveniles (Patrons under the age of 18) there is a $3.00 fine limit. For Adults, the fine limit is $5.00. Those with fines above this amount may not take out items, use our public computers, or put holds on items in the Mid-York catalog. Once your items are returned or replaced, your account will be cleared.
Items with no holds will be automatically renewed up to 2 times. Items with hold requests may not be renewed. Renewals are at the discretion of the library staff.
